"Yeah, I'm sure. There's a lot of folks here who aren't human, and a lot of people that, on their own world, would probably be getting hunted down for one reason or another. But here? We're all prisoners. And almost everyone gets that it's not a good idea to go after each other when we're all stuck in here together."

He smiles a little.

"Just keep being like you are now, and you should be fine."

He's in the center of the square now, and he stops.

"All right, we have a few choices. Food, the library, or..." he hesitates, "There's several apartments in my building that are empty and you can claim, including four on the floor I live on. I don't know what would be more comfortable for you, though."
