1st Postcard [Action]
[Mavis had not been long in Luceti; face down in the cool morning grass of under the shade of a large tree...by any means it would be an ideal place to awake from a nap for anyone. Except when the wind blows just enough to shift the cover of the leaves to let the sunlight shine down on her it awakes her with a start of pain and a disoriented scramble. Sunlight...the sun was up! How on Earth did it get so late and what was she doing outside of the Hotel? Another beam of light zaps her between the branches of the tree, drawing a sharp 'Ow!' from the vampire before she let her form disappear into a cloud of fog before re-materializing as a bat. There would be less of her to get caught in the sun now. Clambering close to the tree trunk she winces at the odd pain against her back before taking stock of her surroundings.
No, she definitely was not in the haunted forest surrounding the Hotel. Everything was far too bright and chipper and there was a village here, one much different than the one she'd flown to the night before and subsequently had to bail on. At her side was a small pile of clothing consisting of her dress, her leggings, and shoes with a strange book resting on top of it. Talk about weird. If she had the time she'd investigate the weird looking journal but the sun grew brighter by the minute; it would only take few hours for it to reach its peak and burn her to a crisp. She'd have to find shelter first, and fast. She could only hope her clothes could give her enough cover.
Anyone walking through the village square might come across a black lump slowly creeping around the corners of houses and shops from shadow to shadow, occasionally bumping into a wall or possibly even their foot! It's hard to see where she's going from under the book and the pile of her clothes but it's the only portable cover Mavis has as a bat. She can only hope she doesn't draw the attention of the humans.]

They've reached the items store by now and he strides in, getting far from the front door and any windows as he can before he carefully unwraps her head so she can look around.
"I think the umbrellas are toward the back."

It's bittersweet but true. Hard to be a mummy or a werewolf on vacation without drawing attention, y'know? As soon as they're inside and out of the squares of sunlight from the windows Sabriel leans forward, letting her for flow from bat, to mist, to girl. She's pretty short all things considered, and very much the teenager he thought she sounded like.
Giving the racks of clothing and bits and pieces a curious glance over she looks back to Derek as a thought strikes her.
"Oh...I don't have any money for any of this."

He shakes his head.
"It's all free. Take what you need and it'll be replaced. If you dig enough, you might find your own clothes in there. Don't ask me how that works, though."

With an apologetic smile she steps up and reaches for the pile of things he was carrying for her, slinging the black dress and leggings and things over her arm. They're kinda dirty now from being dragged all over the place but she could free up his arms at least.
"Thanks for helping me out."

He figures that she'd probably want the space. At least until she felt safer around the populace.
And maybe he just wants to keep an eye on her, too.

"So long as the people there don't mind me living in the same building I'd appreciate that."

I'm sorry I'm so late x__x
With a relieved smile she turns to look at the racks of clothing, glancing around for a quick moment to pick out a bag for the things she had been carrying before Derek had picked her up before sorting through the hangers for suitable cover. Mavis isn't too picky at all about what it comes together as, as she browses she sets a wide brimmed straw hat on her head, some tall boots and a Hawaiian shirt over her shoulders. Testing the span of a black umbrella she hooks it over her arm as she continues looking.
"Now if I can just find a long trench coat or something I'll be set."
No worries. Derek hasn't given her apartment away yet ;)
He had no idea how her physiology worked.
