1st Postcard [Action]
[Mavis had not been long in Luceti; face down in the cool morning grass of under the shade of a large tree...by any means it would be an ideal place to awake from a nap for anyone. Except when the wind blows just enough to shift the cover of the leaves to let the sunlight shine down on her it awakes her with a start of pain and a disoriented scramble. Sunlight...the sun was up! How on Earth did it get so late and what was she doing outside of the Hotel? Another beam of light zaps her between the branches of the tree, drawing a sharp 'Ow!' from the vampire before she let her form disappear into a cloud of fog before re-materializing as a bat. There would be less of her to get caught in the sun now. Clambering close to the tree trunk she winces at the odd pain against her back before taking stock of her surroundings.
No, she definitely was not in the haunted forest surrounding the Hotel. Everything was far too bright and chipper and there was a village here, one much different than the one she'd flown to the night before and subsequently had to bail on. At her side was a small pile of clothing consisting of her dress, her leggings, and shoes with a strange book resting on top of it. Talk about weird. If she had the time she'd investigate the weird looking journal but the sun grew brighter by the minute; it would only take few hours for it to reach its peak and burn her to a crisp. She'd have to find shelter first, and fast. She could only hope her clothes could give her enough cover.
Anyone walking through the village square might come across a black lump slowly creeping around the corners of houses and shops from shadow to shadow, occasionally bumping into a wall or possibly even their foot! It's hard to see where she's going from under the book and the pile of her clothes but it's the only portable cover Mavis has as a bat. She can only hope she doesn't draw the attention of the humans.]

Sorry, sorry! [...] What are you, anyway? Are you hidin' from someone? [She glances around!] ... I can help, if you want!!
no subject
[She flops back onto the ground with a whuff of breath, daring to peek through a fold in the fabric and a crease in the pages at the girl.]
I'm- wait. You'll help me? Really?

Cool, okay! I can keep a secret! And, hold on, I know a place! [She grabs - well, everything: the journal, the clothes and the mysterious thing buried in that bundle.]
Hold on to your b̂̌r͛̔͗͆̏̾̌҉e͛ä͑̈ͯͫ͗̊ǩͨ͂ͨ́ͮͭf͗ͫͪͫͫ͗aͪͮͤş̽͗ͤ̿̆͊ͮt! [And away they go, as Vanellope glitches over to the hallway outside hers and Ralph's apartment. There aren't any windows here, so it's dark enough!]

Wow, you move quick for a human!
no subject
Woah! What are you!

If I tell you, you can't freak out okay? I promise you that I'm friendly.
no subject
I promise not to freak out on you! You don't look really scary. Heck, I've seen some scarier licorice than you, an' that's saying something!

[At least now that she was indoors she could find a better place to hide from the sun, maybe under the stairs or something. Pushing herself out of the pile Mavis lets her bat form flow into mist before it reassembles to reveal her in her regular body albeit dressed in a simple white dress and with that strange set of bird wings stuck to her back. She gives Vanellope a nervous smile.]
My name's Mavis Dracula...and I'm a vampire.
no subject
Oh! Right, and I'm Vanellope von Schweetz. I'm a racer!
no subject
[Now this is a first...the little girl didn't seem intimidated at all, then again maybe she didn't know what a vampire was.]
A racer huh? That sounds like fun! What do you race?
no subject
But you're a vampire, right? That's pretty neat! What else can ya do!
no subject
[So she did now? Well, count Mavis pleasantly surprised and honestly refreshed to see Vanellope's so accepting of her so soon.]
Well...I could...
[Mavis disappears in a puff of glowing mist, the cloud zipping over to the pile of clothes and catching them up to swirl around her as they rise. When she re-materializes a moment later she's wearing her proper outfit with the white New Feather dress hanging over her arm.]
Now that's better.

Holy mother of molasses, that was really cool! I didn't know vampire could do that kinda thing! [She jumps up once.] It's kinda like what I can do!
no subject
[With a grin Mavis puts her foot on the wall and promptly shifts planes, walking up the wall as if it were the floor until she reaches the ceiling, standing upside down as if nothing was wrong.]
How do you do that glow-y teleporting thing anyway? I never knew humans could do that!
no subject
You're really cool too, though! Can you teach me how to do that?
no subject
Sorry kiddo but it's a vampire only thing. I could hold onto you while I do it though if you wanna try that.
